RVS Academy, Mango, Jamshedpur joyfully celebrated Van Mahotsav with a two-day programme aimed at fostering environmental awareness and encouraging students to become responsible stewards of nature.
The celebration began with an Environment Awareness Rally in the nearby localities. The rally was flagged off by the Chairman of the school, Mr. Binda Singh. Students enthusiastically carried colourful placards bearing powerful slogans on saving the environment, planting more trees, preventing deforestation, and protecting nature. Through their spirited participation and meaningful slogans, they spread the message of environmental conservation among the local community.
A Slogan Writing Competition was also organised to inspire creativity and deepen students’ understanding of the importance of tree plantation and environmental protection. The participants displayed remarkable originality and awareness through their thoughtful and impactful slogans.
As part of the celebration, a Tree Plantation Drive was conducted on the school campus. More than 150 saplings were planted by the Chairman, Mr. Binda Singh, Principal, Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Eco Club Moderators, Mrs. Shikha Singh and Mrs. Mamta Panda, along with enthusiastic participation from students. The activity provided students with a practical understanding of the vital role trees play in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. Binda Singh said, “Planting a tree is a gift we give to the future. It is not just a celebration but a reminder of our duty to protect and preserve nature. I am proud of our students and staff for taking such an active role in this green initiative. By planting saplings today, we are sowing the seeds of a cleaner, greener tomorrow.”
Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra shared her thoughts, saying, “Van Mahotsav at RVS Academy is more than a celebration—it is a commitment to the environment. Every sapling planted and every slogan created reflects our students’ growing awareness and dedication towards protecting nature.
