R.V.S. Academy, Siromani Nagar, Mango, Jamshedpur, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a strong sense of national pride. The programme was organised around the inspiring theme “Celebrating Freedom, Sharing the Future: From 1947 to India @2047.”
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial escorting of the Chief Guest and members of the Management Committee, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chairman of R.V.S. Academy, Mr. Binda Singh. The ceremony was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. Students presented a disciplined and impressive March Past, reflecting their patriotism, unity and commitment to the nation.
The occasion was graced by Mr. Shatrughna Singh, Treasurer; Mr. Shakti Singh, Executive Committee Member; Mr. Aayushman Singh; Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra; Vice-Principal Mrs. Puja Suman; Coordinators, teachers, parents and students, who joined together in celebrating the spirit of freedom and national unity.
The programme featured an inspiring address by the Principal, followed by melodious patriotic songs and thought-provoking speeches in English and Hindi by students. Their presentations highlighted the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and emphasised the responsibility of every citizen, particularly the younger generation, in shaping the nation’s future.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, students presented engaging patriotic dance performances and a meaningful story enactment. The school also felicitated the ICSE and ISC toppers, recognising their academic excellence, perseverance and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. Binda Singh spoke about the significance of freedom and the responsibility that comes with it. He reminded everyone that the freedom secured by our forefathers must be honoured through responsible citizenship, discipline, education and collective effort. He emphasised that the India of 2047 will be shaped by the values and actions of today’s generation. He urged students to dream big, remain committed to excellence and contribute positively to the progress of the nation. He envisioned an India that is developed, self-reliant, progressive and rooted in its rich values and heritage.
The celebration continued with a special rendition of “Vande Mataram,” creating an atmosphere of pride and patriotism. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Vice-Principal, Mrs. Puja Suman, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The programme concluded on a celebratory note with the collective singing of Vande Mataram and the distribution of sweets among students and members of the school community.
The Independence Day celebration at R.V.S. Academy was a harmonious blend of patriotism, cultural expression and academic recognition. It inspired the entire school community to uphold the values of freedom, unity, discipline and responsibility and to work together towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
