Keeping its tradition alive, this year too R.V.S. Academy celebrated the “Raksha Parv” on 13thAug, 2018 to commemorate the love and affection of the students for the well-being of our brave soldiers at the border.
Raksha parva is an activity being organised every year by Dainik Jagran since last seven years to mark the spirit of love and affection and to show our emotional bonding for the courageous soldiers at the border serving day and night, for our safety and security amidst odd climates and situations.
A decorated van (Raksha Rath) is rotated around the city- schools to collect handmade Rakhis and greeting cards. The packet is finally handed over to soldiers at the NathulaDarra Border in Jammu.
The programme was graced by Captain Indrajeet Singh and Second in Command CRPF Vikram singh, Sub-Inspector CRPF Kr Madhaw. Other dignitaries present were Mr.Dilawar Sahu ( GM – DainikJagran), Mr.Shashi Shekhar (Editor) and Mr.Subrato Banerjee ( Brand manager). Captain Indrajeet Singh was accompanied by his team of twenty five members. The occasion was graced by the members of our school Executive Council, Mr.Shatrughana Singh and Mr. Shakti Singh. The principal of our school, Mrs V. Chchaya Das contributed an important part in making the programme a great success.
As soon as the Chief Guest arrived, the students played the band filling the air with reverence and affection. The army of soldiers were greeted and escorted to the auditorium with great honour.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, which was followed by songs and dances full of patriotism. In between the cultural programme, Captain Indrajeet Singh spoke inspiring words to the students. The programme ended with the tying of the Rakhi prepared by our students with love for their brothers’ well-being. At the end, the principal handed over the box of Rakhis and greeting cards to the army personnel, prepared by the students under the able guidance of our art teacher, Mr.Dipankar Ganguli for the fearless heroes at the border.
