On 24th July 2018, R V S Academy hosted the ASISC ZONAL LEVEL BADMINTON SELECTION TRIAL 2018 -2019, which will last for two days. The Chief Guest for the day Mr. Prabhat Kumar, City SP declared the Meet Open . Guest of Honour for the day was Mr. Hassan Imam Mallick , Event Coordinator in Sports Department Tata Steel. Chairman of the School Mr. Binda Singh , Executive members Mr. Shatrughna Singh and Mr. Shakti Singh, Principal Mrs. V. Chhaya Das, Principals of various schools and many other dignatories graced the occasion.
Around 22 schools with 199 participants took part in the Zonal Level Badminton Selection Trial .Gulmohar High School, A.D.L.S sunshine school, Vig Enghlish School, Dayanand Public School, Hill Top School , K P S Kadma , Little Flower School ,Church School Beldih , K.S.M.S, RV , S.K.P.S, M.N.P.S, N.H.E.S, Andhra Association English School, Tagore Academy, Carmel Junior College, J.H.Tarapore , Sacred Heart Convent and Tarapore Agrico School were the various schools that took part .
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across the net. The most common forms of the game are “Singles” and “ Doubles” . It is officially the world’s fastest racquet sport, which requires quick reflexes and superb conditioning. It is second most popular sport in the world. Under the able guidance of our sports teachers Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Mrs. Pusha Kabi , the whole event was carried out smoothly and appreciated by all .
In this Selection Trial 16 players will be selected and they will get a chance to participate in ASISC Regional Badminton Tournament which will be held in Patna in the month of August.
