RVS Academy, Dimna Road, Mango, Jamshedpur, celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with great grandeur, devotion and festive fervour. The celebration was graced by the presence of Chairman Mr. Binda Singh, Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Vice Principal Mrs. Puja Suman, Primary School Coordinator Mrs. Shikha Singh and Pre-Primary In-charge Mrs. Suchitra Dutta, along with teachers and students.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, marking an auspicious beginning to the celebration. The guests were warmly welcomed with great enthusiasm.
The vibrant celebration was organised by the Pre-Primary section, where the little ones presented a beautiful and meaningful enactment of ‘Govardhan Parvat Ki Puja’, bringing the divine episode of Lord Krishna’s Govardhan Leela to life. Through their thoughtful performance, the children depicted how Lord Krishna persuaded the residents of Vraja to worship Govardhan Hill, the cows and the Brahmanas, instead of performing their customary worship of Lord Indra. Angered by this, Indra unleashed torrential rains and powerful storms upon Vraja. To protect the residents and their cattle, Lord Krishna lifted Govardhan Hill with one hand and provided them shelter beneath it for seven days. The episode beautifully conveyed the timeless values of faith, humility, protection, gratitude and reverence for nature and the sources that sustain life.
Another heart-touching presentation depicted the divine friendship between Lord Krishna and Draupadi. Through their expressive performance, the children beautifully portrayed the bond of affection, trust and friendship between the two and highlighted how Lord Krishna stood by Draupadi during the episode of Cheer Haran, protecting her dignity and honour.
The celebration also featured devotional songs imbued with meaningful messages, along with short speeches delivered confidently by the tiny tots. The young performers showcased their confidence, creativity, coordination and talent with remarkable enthusiasm and zest. Their vibrant presentations reflected the sincere guidance and dedicated efforts of their teachers.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. Binda Singh applauded the efforts of the students and teachers in making the celebration meaningful and memorable. He remarked, “The dedication and creativity displayed by our young learners today is truly commendable.”
In her address, Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra emphasised the significance of celebrating Indian festivals in educational institutions. She highlighted that such occasions provide children with an opportunity to connect with India’s rich cultural heritage, understand its timeless traditions and develop a deeper sense of unity, harmony and devotion.
The celebration concluded on a joyful and spiritual note, leaving everyone with cherished memories. The Krishna Janmashtami celebration at RVS Academy was not merely a cultural programme but a beautiful blend of tradition, devotion, creativity and learning, reminding everyone that the timeless values taught by Lord Krishna—love, compassion, courage, righteousness, humility and faith—continue to inspire generations.
