RVS Academy successfully hosted the ASISC Zonal Debate Competition for the Senior Category on 8th July, 2026 at the RVS Academy auditorium on Dimna Road, Mango.
The event brought together exceptionally talented orators from 24 prominent CISCE affiliated schools across the zone celebrating intellectual rigor, articulation and persuasive communication.
The senior category witnessed intense intellectual sparring on the topic, ‘Schools must make Financial Education a compulsory subject.’
The participants were given exactly one hour of preparation time without any access to digital gadgets or Internet connectivity forcing them to rely purely on their quick wit and foundational knowledge.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The inauguration was led by the chairman of RVS Academy, Mr Binda Singh , principal, Mrs. Veesha Mohindra ,vice- principal, Mrs. Puja Suman.
Esteemed educationist , Mrs. Jhumjhumi Nandi, Principal of Jusco School,Kadma moderated the competition.
The participants demonstrated sharp analytical skills, quick wit and commendable confidence impressing a distinguished panel of judges. The distinguished panel of judges evaluated the orators on content, delivery, logical rebuttals and grammatical eloquence. The panel included eminent personalities such as
Mrs. Shanta Bose, Mrs. Suchetana Lahiri and Mrs. Sujata Mukherjee.
After a series of intense rounds filled with sharp arguments and powerful cross examinations the results were declared.
The winners of the competition were:-
Best speaker for the motion- Abhilasha (Hill Top School)
Best speaker against the motion- Arpita Patra (Hill Top School)
Overall winner- Abhilasha and Arpita Patra (Hill Top School)
Runners up- Aayesha Thakur and Manya Jha (Loyola School)
Second Runner up- Ayushman Piyush Mishra and Arnab Mukherjee (Kerala Public School,Kadma)
The Principal congratulated all the participants and expressed that in a healthy debate, there are no true losers. Every argument presented broadened our understanding.She congratulated all the winners and expressed gratitude to the school management for their support in organising the event.
The successful culmination of the ASISC Zonal event highlights the commitment of the ASISC in providing a dynamic platform for holistic education empowering students to become the confident leaders and thinkers of tomorrow.
